Lead Gastroenterology Dietitian (Fixed Term for 12 months)

We have a great opportunity to join the Dietetic team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals. We have a fixed-term vacancy for a part-time (0.7 WTE) Band 7 Lead Gastroenterology Dietitian.The successful candidate will be part of the Gastroenterology Dietetic team and be involved in delivering specialist inpatient and outpatient services to our patients. This role offers a wide range of benefits including the opportunity for flexible working, hybrid working, as well as a range of professional development opportunities., The Gastroenterology Dietetics team, provides a service to adult gastroenterology inpatients at St Peter's Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team of 6 gastro dietitians and a dietetic assistant, responsible for providing expert nutritional care and managing a caseload of inpatients on the gastroenterology ward.

This post has a strong outpatient focus, providing a specialist dietetic service for patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions including IBS, coeliac disease, liver disease and IBD. You will deliver face to face, telephone and virtual appointments as well as group education sessions. You will lead our dietetic-led coeliac disease service and attend MDT meetings.

Alongside the other band 7 Lead Gastroenterology Dietitian and accountable to the Dietetic Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology & Surgery, the post holder will:

Provide specialist clinical leadership for the gastroenterology dietetic service and manage a caseload of complex patients.

Provide expert advice within the MDT.

Oversee service performance, including monitoring activity, outcomes, capacity and meeting agreed performance indicators.

Deliver clinical supervision to staff and students to support high-quality practice and professional development.

Undertake line management duties.

Lead service improvement and pathway development projects to enhance patient care, efficiency and innovation across gastroenterology.
