Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Consultant Psychological Therapist to join us as our Directorate Lead of the Psychological Professions within the Directorate of Mental Health (DMH). We are looking for a forward-thinking consultant Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist with exceptional leadership and project management skills to lead Psychology and Specialist Psychological Therapy Services in the Mental Health Directorate, and to take a lead role in the design, development and implementation of the psychological therapy pathway within our directorate-wide transformation programme. This post will provide direct line management and leadership to our Psychology and Psychological Therapy Services and pathways across DMH.
This full-time 8D post is a key role in our mental health directorate management team and will report to the director of mental health services. It is a great opportunity to demonstrate your leadership and clinical skills, including some direct clinical interventions together with consultation, training, supervision and reflective practice. Please see attached document titled Advert DMH Lead for PP for full details of the role and organisation., As the Directorate Lead for Psychology and Specialist Psychological Therapies within the Mental Health Directorate, the role is responsible for leading psychology and psychotherapy services across Mental Health Services for Older People, specialist psychotherapy services, and all psychology and psychological therapy pathways within Planned Care, Urgent Care and Inpatient Services. Working as part of the Directorate Senior Management Team, the post holder collaborates with Clinical Leads to design, develop and deliver high-quality, accessible and integrated psychological services, while providing line management, budget oversight and strategic direction.
The role also promotes psychologically informed and recovery-focused practice, provides advanced clinical leadership, ensures effective governance and supervision arrangements, supports training and professional development, and maintains high standards of psychological care and clinical practice across the Directorate., We are looking for a forward-thinking consultant clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist with exceptional leadership and project management skills to lead Psychology and Specialist Psychological Therapy Services in the Mental Health Directorate, and to take a lead role in the design, development and implementation of the psychological therapy pathway within our directorate-wide transformation programme.
