Full Job Description

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic individual to assist in the day to day running of our Catering Department., A Lead Food Services Assistant is responsible for efficiently assisting in all Food Services areas as directed by their team leader and/or line manager and operating within established food hygiene and safety practices, methods and procedures and within the principles of a flexible team approach. Service areas include all kitchen and dish wash sections, hospitality and retail sections including functions, restaurants and coffee shops, newsagents, vending, ward trolley service and any other related areas.

Duties include the cleaning of premises and equipment, simple food preparation and packaging, food service, vending and ward trolley service. The role will include undertaking duties in a chilled and/or frozen working and storage environment, as appropriate.

You must have the ability and initiative to work both on your own and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills are paramount, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

You will be based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, but may be required to cover other sites within Swansea Bay Health Board.

The ideal candidate will have level 2 Food Safety training and Catering experience, a knowledge of cleaning standards is also desirable but not essential but full training will be provided.

The role will include undertaking cooking, serving hot food, and other restaurant duties, you may also be required to work in the coffee shop, there may also be some duties working in a chilled and/or frozen environment as appropriate., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
