Lead Data Analyst

Are you an experienced data and analytics professional looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to provide analytical leadership and support to Education and Children's Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how data is used to improve services, inform decision making and support positive outcomes for children and young people. Leading a small team of analysts, you will work closely with senior managers and service leaders to develop reporting, intelligence and insight that supports service improvement and transformation.

You will lead the development of Power BI reporting solutions, promote effective use of data across services and help drive improvements in data quality, governance and performance management. The role will play a key role in ensuring services have access to robust performance information and analysis to support improvement activity, external inspection and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to the Council's wider Digital & Data Transformation Programme and Data Strategy. We are looking for someone with significant experience of data analysis, business intelligence and reporting, together with strong stakeholder management skills.

Experience of leading analyticalprojects, managing staff and using tools such as Power BI and SQL is essential. Experience of education, children's services, SEND or wider local government data would be advantageous.

Lead the design and implementation of Power BI dashboards and business intelligence solutions

Work with senior managers and service leaders to identify analytical requirements and translate these into actionable insight and data products

Support inspection readiness, statutory reporting and performance management through the provision of robust and reliable data and analysis
