Full Job Description
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Core/.NET 6/7/8, ASP.NET Core, microservices and distributed systems, together with extensive experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions across AWS and Microsoft Azure. The role requires technical leadership across application modernisation, cloud architecture, platform engineering, DevOps and production operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, project managers and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, resilient and high-performing solutions. Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
- Develop scalable backend services using Spring Framework, Spring MVC and Microservices architecture.
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications and platform services using C#, .NET Core/.NET 6/7/8 and ASP.NET Core.
- Architect and implement microservices-based, event-driven and cloud-native distributed systems across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services using Clean Architecture, SOLID principles and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Design and deliver AWS solutions using Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, EventBridge and EKS.
- Design and deliver Azure solutions using App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Service Bus, Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Build and maintain serverless and containerised architectures that provide scalability, resilience, security and high availability.
- Implement asynchronous messaging, event-driven integration and resilience patterns including retries, dead-letter queues, idempotency and circuit breakers.
- Lead application modernisation and monolith-to-microservices migration initiatives.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Manage Docker and Kubernetes deployments across Amazon EKS and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automated cloud provisioning using Terraform and native AWS/Azure tooling.
- Implement observability, logging, monitoring and distributed tracing using AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Lead production support, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous service improvement.
- Optimise application and database performance using SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance, code reviews, mentoring and engineering best practices.
