Full Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced Prosecution Lawyer to support a peak in workload, with a strong focus on non-school attendance prosecutions. You'll review cases, prepare matters for court, and provide clear, timely legal advice across a range of local authority prosecutions.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone confident in managing a high-volume caseload and able to attend court and the office on an ad hoc basis.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on non-school attendance prosecutions (experience essential)
Review evidence, prepare cases, and provide legal advice
Manage and progress a varied caseload of local authority prosecutions
Prepare court documentation and represent the authority where required
Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies
Qualified lawyer with experience in non-school attendance cases
Strong understanding of local authority prosecution work
Confident preparing and presenting cases for court
Able to work independently and respond flexibly to workload peaks
