Full Job Description
Launchpad is a service currently available in 16 adult prisons and 3 Young Offender Institutions providing laptops to over 13,000 prisoners and children in their cells. The role will coordinate a geographically dispersed and specialist function alongside the current job holder who will also be working for 22 hours per week. The post requires coordination of staff within and beyond direct line management and at a range of grades and collaboratively working within the team and function to provide a coherent and consistent service for HMPPS. This is a non-operational, national post. The post reports to the Head of Launchpad Live Service in HMPPS. Key responsibilities include: oversight of service provision and development of the Launchpad service for prisons in the south, including professional oversight of B5 Digital and Communications Managers in those prisons. supporting each prison to make the most of Launchpad to support staff and prisoners. championing best practice and holding monthly service improvement meetings with each prison. working with senior leaders in each prison to develop digital by default ways of working and to support them in their exploitation of the platform in the effective running of their prisons. holding prisons to account for delivery of the anticipated benefits in their establishments. developing individual capability and growing collective maturity of the digital teams in prisons and their digital change networks. acting as two-way point for advice and support between prisons and to other areas of HMPPS or MoJ. - Experience of handling sensitive relationships diplomatically whilst influencing and negotiating business change
- Knowledge and experience of business change tools and techniques
- Be from the relevant business area in order to demonstrate detailed knowledge of the business environment and have direct business experience
- Have ongoing operational responsibilities within their business area in order to enable changes resulting from the programme to be firmly embedded in the organisation
- Have the confidence of senior managers from the area to be changed
- Have management skills to coordinate people from different disciplines and with differing viewpoints within the business
- Have change management skills and enough experience to be able to bring order to complex situations and maintain focus on the programme's objectives
