Full Job Description

The staff on Ward 3 aim to provide a high quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner by using all available specialist knowledge and skills. The wellbeing of all our patients relies on appropriate and timely assessment, investigation, treatment and care. The aim is to promote optimum health through communication, teaching and provision of adequate information. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to participate in research as well as to maintain a portfolio and have a clinical and educational supervisor. Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents. The basic salary for this role is outlined above based on a 40 hour working week. In addition, there will be enhancements for additional rostered hours (over 40), night rate hours and weekend working allowance in line with the relevant Nodal Point under the new Junior Doctor Contract 2016 pay scales. The value of the enhancement for the role can be provided upon request, however, this is subject to any future rota changes in line with service need.

The post is not recognised for training; however, it will provide valuable clinical exposure supported by a range of training opportunities. Why Macclesfield?

  • A small and friendly DGH where everyone counts in our team. In a recent visit (May 2016) Health Education England NW noted that 'all trainee groups would recommend the trust as a place to work. Trainees indicated that they felt appreciated and said the trust provided a supportive and friendly working environment.'
  • The Trust is ideally located where the Peak District meets the Cheshire Plain, yet only 20 minutes by train from central Manchester and its airport. Training in a location with the best of all worlds a DGH within reach of Countryside and City.
  • Numerous activities nearby; biking for roadies and mountain bikers, walking in the Peaks and on the Plains, running, climbing, sailing as well as big city shopping and clubbing in nearby Manchester., Please be aware that this post requires an Enhanced with Barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate.
