Laboratory Technician

The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences - Oxford Institute (COI) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist the researchers with the day- to-day operations supporting the COI laboratories.

You will be expected to assist with stock keeping, ordering and equipment maintenance. Following induction, training and familiarisation with the COI environment, you will be required to independently prioritise your own tasks and work with minimal supervision. You will have an adaptable approach to work and a willingness to tackle a variety of tasks.

You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, together with an ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of staff at all levels.

You will be joining a team of highly motivated and enthusiastic research environment, who work closely together to achieve the objectives of the COI. Due to the challenge of delivering the group's objectives, you must be keen to acquire new methodological skills.

Pending a suitable training and induction period, the shared responsibility of being part of the COI on call rota and responding to out-of-hours emergencies is an element of this role. Being part of the on call rota includes a supplement to pay.
