Full Job Description
- Assist Clinical Scientists with routine laboratory procedures, including diagnostic semen analysis
- Prepare laboratory equipment, culture media, and materials using aseptic techniques
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous laboratory records in line with regulatory requirements
- Monitor laboratory equipment performance and report faults or issues
- Manage stock control, including consumables and reagents
- Support compliance with statutory and regulatory standards including HFEA, UKAS and internal SOPs
- Assist with audits, quality assurance, and governance processes
- Liaise effectively with clinical teams and external partners to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in accordance with health and safety policies Communication and Relationships
- Communicate effectively with clinical, scientific, and administrative staff
- Maintain professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information is maintained at all times Planning and Organisational Skills
- Prioritise workload effectively to meet service demands
- Work independently within defined procedures while supporting wider team activities
- Maintain organised records and documentation in a fast-paced clinical environment Physical Skills
- Use manual dexterity for precise laboratory-based tasks
- Handle laboratory equipment and samples safely and appropriately
