KS2 Class Teacher - 12-Month Maternity Cover Start Date: 1 September 2026 Class Teacher (Key Stage 2) We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our thriving and ambitious school community. - Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pastoral care, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils at all times in accordance with the school's policies
- Deliver inspiring, ambitious, and well-structured teaching across the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Plan and prepare engaging, creative lessons that challenge and support all learners through thoughtful differentiation
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress with precision, using data and professional judgement to inform future teaching
- Produce high-quality written reports and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents, communicating confidently both in writing and in person, including at Parents' Evenings
- Work closely with the Learning Enrichment Department to ensure excellent provision for pupils with SEND and those with English as an Additional Language
- Create a stimulating, well-ordered classroom environment that reflects high expectations and celebrates pupil achievement
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich and extend learning across the curriculum
- Contribute fully to the wider life of the school, including attendance at INSET, open events, and community occasions
- Take responsibility for the pastoral, social, and emotional development of pupils, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture
- Carry out routine responsibilities with diligence, including registration, supervision, and end-of-day dismissal
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, promoting courtesy, respect, and a strong sense of community
- Respond promptly and professionally to any incidents of illness or injury, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
- Undertake supervisory duties as required before, during, and after the school day
- Lead or contribute to the co-curricular programme, including an after-school club
- Participate enthusiastically in school trips, residential visits, and educational outings
- Keep the Senior Leadership Team appropriately informed of any pastoral or safeguarding concerns
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A proven track record of delivering excellent teaching and learning
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and current assessment practices
- A secure understanding of effective pedagogy and how children learn
- A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse needs
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Strong behaviour management skills, underpinned by high expectations and positive relationships
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding, equality, and health & safety responsibilities
- Confidence in using technology to enhance teaching and learning
- A flexible, proactive approach and a willingness to contribute fully to school life Desirable
- Experience teaching across more than one Key Stage
- Evidence of sustained and relevant professional development
- Experience within an independent or high-performing school environment
- Willingness to contribute to the broader co-curricular life of the school
