Full Job Description

Provide tailored 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally, while promoting independence and confidence.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff to create a calm, structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the pupil's individual learning, communication and sensory needs.
Use a patient, flexible and consistent approach, with an understanding of emotional regulation, positive behaviour support and strategies to help the pupil manage transitions, maintain focus and engage successfully in learning.
Support the planning, preparation and delivery of accessible learning activities as directed by the class teacher., The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's confidence, independence and learning journey.
Ongoing support and training opportunities to develop your skills in supporting children with additional needs.

Has experience of supporting children with additional learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs, ideally within a KS2 setting.
Has an understanding of strategies to support attention, emotional regulation, positive behaviour and successful engagement in learning.
Is patient, calm, nurturing and adaptable, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
Can provide a consistent, structured approach while responding sensitively to a child's individual needs.
Works well as part of a small, supportive team and communicates effectively with teachers, staff and parents.
Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and promoting a child's wellbeing and independence.
