Full Job Description
As a Kitchen Auditor, you will work independently across multiple sites, carrying out scheduled and unannounced audits to ensure compliance with food safety legislation, hygiene standards, operational procedures, and quality expectations. You will provide constructive feedback, support staff to maintain excellent standards, and help drive continuous improvement across the service.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, confident, and able to manage their own workload effectively while building positive working relationships with catering teams, headteachers, and kitchen staff. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with integrity and professionalism are essential. Access to a vehicle and the ability to travel across the county borough is essential. For the role, we ask that you have:
- Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, Level 2 NVQ Customer Service, Administration, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, GCSEs Grades A-C. Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience of working in a catering service.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with catering staff, headteachers, business managers and Environmental health Officers etc., We are legally required to ask you to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. Successful applicants are required to provide appropriate documentation such as a birth certificate, passport or work permit in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. This role requires a basic check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
