What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential.
  • 30 hours per week
  • Shift pattern :
  • Week 1 Monday - 8-4 laundry, Tuesday - 8-4 laundry, Friday - 8-4 kitchen, Saturday - 8-4 kitchen, Sunday - 8-4 kitchen
  • Week 2 Tuesday - 8-4 laundry, Wednesday - 8-4 laundry, Thursday - 8-4 kitchen, Friday - 8-4 kitchen

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

  • Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
  • Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.
  • Additionally to these tasks you will be required to assist with the laundry

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
