Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Kitchen Assistant with extensive experience in Mediterranean cuisine to support our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, excellent food-safety standards, and a proactive, disciplined approach to kitchen operations. This role is essential in maintaining smooth service, high hygiene standards, and consistent quality across all food preparation areas.,
- Assist line chefs with daily preparation of Mediterranean dishes, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and mise en place.
- Support KP duties, including cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and maintaining overall kitchen hygiene.
- Follow correct food storage procedures, including accurate labelling, dating, rotation (FIFO), and temperature control.
- Apply HACCP principles across all prep, cooking, cooling, reheating, and storage processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK food hygiene laws and regulations, maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
- Receive and store deliveries correctly, checking quality, freshness, and temperatures.
- Follow instructions from chefs and management with precision and consistency.
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic during all shifts.
Extensive experience working in professional kitchens, ideally with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine. - Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
- Strong understanding of HACCP, cooling and reheating procedures, cross-contamination prevention, and allergen awareness.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene laws, kitchen safety, and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- High level of punctuality, dedication, and reliability.
- Must be able to work full-time.
