Do you enjoy working as part of a friendly team and take pride in preparing and serving nutritious meals? We're looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to help create a positive dining experience for our pupils while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hardworking, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people through the provision of healthy, enjoyable meals. As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the Cook/Supervisor with the preparation, serving, and delivery of meals. You'll help ensure our kitchen and dining areas are clean, safe, and welcoming, while contributing to a positive lunchtime environment for pupils. What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals, including catering for special dietary requirements.
- Supporting the delivery and serving of school meals.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.Following food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Helping to monitor food supplies and report any shortages or concerns.
- Assisting with record keeping, meal orders, and daily kitchen administration.
- Supporting pupils during lunchtime to ensure meals are enjoyed in a safe and positive environment.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure an efficient and well-organised kitchen service.
Basic Food Hygiene desirable - Have catering experience or experience preparing home-cooked food.
- Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.Have a positive, flexible, and can-do attitude.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Are resilient, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Share our commitment to supporting children and young people.
- Driving licence required
