Kitchen Assistant

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £15.50
Hours: 40h per week

A co-educational independent day school for children aged 2 to 18. Situated just outside Esher, Surrey. Catering for just about 1400 students and teachers. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch, tuck shop and match teas. There will be a lot of hospitality offering at this location. This is a term time only contract working 40 weeks a year. This school operates Monday to Friday and has an additional benefit of Free on site parking.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Esher.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great team player
  • Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / competencies:

  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
  • Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
