Introduction

Start your career in structural engineering with this hands on apprenticeship. You'll support the design of buildings, bridges and civil engineering projects, creating BIM models, drawings and construction information while learning from experienced engineers. What You'll Do

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Engineering:

  • Assist in the modelling of our projects to a high standard and to industry best practice using the latest software
  • Assist in production of construction information including drawings and schedules to all DYSE guidelines and procedures or those of the client as necessary
  • Checks own work

Health & Safety:

  • Be developing knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and the duties of designers
  • Fosters safe by design principles

Commercial:

  • Manage own time to work within the financial and programme constraints of a project
  • Manage own time to meet multiple project deadlines

General:

  • Keeps abreast of the latest industry developments
  • Undertakes work in accordance with the relevant company procedures
  • Follows the company’s quality management system


Training Outcome

  • Potential fulltime role upon successfully completing apprenticeship
  • Under the support and encouragement of DYSE, develop towards becoming a professionally qualified member of a relevant institution (EngTech with ICE or IStructE)
