A practical, technology-focused role where you start by assisting experienced surveyors and progressively develop the skills to become an independent surveyor/geospatial technician.

What You'll Do

Typical work includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Carrying out site surveys and precise measurements
  • Learning to use equipment such as GNSS, total stations, laser scanners and drones
  • Processing survey data and producing 2D plans and 3D models
  • Working across varied projects, including construction, infrastructure, utilities and environmental work
  • Developing technical knowledge in areas such as GIS, surveying, geodesy and data processing
  • Academy Geomatics is also supporting the Level 3 Geospatial Survey Technician apprenticeship, a 24-month programme combining workplace experience with formal training


Training Outcome

In the future there may be opportunity for the apprentice to progress to Senior Surveyor level.

Working Week: 08:00 - 16:45, Monday - Friday.
