Junior Sister / Charge Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership within the department, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will help coordinate departmental activity, promote patient flow, and ensure high standards of nursing practice. You will act as a visible clinical role model, supporting, supervising, and developing nursing staff and students, while fostering a culture of learning, teamwork, and continuous improvement. If you are ready to take the next step in your leadership journey, we would love to hear from you., As a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical and operational leadership within the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the day-to-day running of the department and supporting patient flow.
• Acting as a senior clinical role model, delivering high standards of emergency nursing care.
• Providing leadership, supervision, and support to registered nurses, nursing associates, healthcare support workers, and students.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with a wide range of urgent and emergency healthcare needs.
• Supporting the management of deteriorating and critically ill patients through timely assessment and escalation.
• Promoting evidence-based practice and ensuring compliance with national and local policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Contributing to workforce management, including staff deployment, mentoring, teaching, and appraisal processes.
• Leading on quality improvement, clinical governance, patient safety, and incident learning initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.
• Supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in achieving departmental objectives, operational targets, and service development projects.
