Full Job Description

The post holder will work with nurses, consultants and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care and staff development as part of the team.
They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure standards of care are consistently maintained.
The job will be based at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust but will involve travel to venues within Cheshunt.

The hospital will further support the improvement in patient care and standards and provide staff with increased opportunities for professional and career development., To work supporting the Ophthalmology team to provide care for ophthalmic patients including:
Triage, treat and discharge (or refer on) patients with minor ophthalmic emergencies
Assess, advise, and discharge ophthalmic patients in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines/protocols
Support the casualty clinics
Be a role model to the Junior staff in timekeeping and efficiency in the clinic
Participate in yearly clinical audit
Demonstrate clinical involvement and clinical expertise relating to specific criteria, within agreed protocols and guidelines e.g., one-stop and post operative clinics
To help in the improvement and development of services in the ophthalmology department.
Work closely with the consultant ophthalmologists and Departmental Manager, NMUH North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Hospital Trust (NMUH) is one of London's busiest healthcare providers, providing hospital care and community services for the 350,000 people living in Enfield, Haringey and beyond. Our specialist services include HIV, cardiology, blood disorders, diabetes, fertility, sickle cell and thalassemia. In addition to a full range of cancer diagnosis and treatment services, the Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centre is based on-site and provides services to support cancer patients' wellbeing. We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life. This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19.

We are looking for someone to join our busy and highly skilled team to provide holistic approach to ophthalmic care. The successful applicant will be a dynamic and motivated individual capable of managing his or her own workload. The post holder will have appropriate, experience or potential to develop. You will possess effective communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently as well as within a team., Ability to communicate and establish relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
Ability to communicate with a range of patient groups including foreign language
Communicate clinical and administrative messages clearly and accurately to staff, clinicians, and others
Attend and participate departmental or other relevant meetings as required.
Ability to manage difficult and challenging situations.
