Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with first-class organisational, administrative and customer service skills to play a key role within a busy admissions team at one of London's leading independent schools. Based in our Junior School, you will be responsible for managing a professional, welcoming and efficient pupil admissions process from first contact, through visits, examinations and assessments, to the first day at school. You will ensure a customer-focused approach to your work, responding to enquiries in a friendly and informative manner and building strong relationships with families throughout the admissions journey. In addition to this, you will manage the Junior Admissions calendar and actively contribute to the planning and delivery of events such as Open Mornings, Decider Coffee mornings, Taster Days, Induction Days and Welcome Evenings for incoming families. You will also oversee all aspects of the Road to Seniors programme for Years 4-6, coordinating timely communication with parents and liaising with Senior School colleagues to ensure a smooth and engaging transition into Year 7.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with previous experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong understanding of excellent customer service. Experience of working in independent school admissions would also be advantageous. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate sensitively and diplomatically to people at all levels and act as a welcoming ambassador for the Junior School. This role requires exceptional organisational and administrative skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and work autonomously to tight deadlines. Excellent ICT skills are also essential, including experience with management information systems such as SIMS or iSAMS, as well as proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Teams.

Since 1880, Wimbledon High School GDST has been educating girls to go out into the world and make a difference. Our acclaimed pastoral programme GROW, enriching co-curricular opportunities, character-forging partnerships and our 'playful scholarship' approach to academic life make for a compelling environment where every individual can flourish and be herself. Located in the heart of Wimbledon, we are less than 20 minutes from central London.

As part of the Girls' Day School Trust, the UK's leading network of independent girls' schools, we can offer a variety of benefits, such as:

  • Competitive salaries and pay progression
  • Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  • GDST Flexible Pension Plan Training grants for qualifications
  • Free life assurance benefit
  • A discount of up to 50% on fees for children at GDST schools
  • Interest free loans for training, computer purchase loans and travel season tickets
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Competitive terms and conditions of employment
