Full Job Description
Participating in the Tier 1 resident doctor rota (Fy3 -ST2 equivalent) on the neonatal unit to include shifts on intensive care, high dependency, special care and transitional care
-Covering the delivery suite bleep and attending high risk deliveries
-Performing postnatal ward and community reviews
-The opportunity to develop procedural skills including peripheral cannulation, central line insertion (umbilical and long line), lumbar puncture and tracheal intubation., Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care team on the resident doctor rota (at FY3-ST2+ equivalent)
This person must have a minimum of 24months clinical experience post medical school graduation. No prior neonatal experience is required but it would be beneficial.
Applicants need a minimum of 12 months clinical experience working in the UK
The appointment will be for 6-12 months in the first instance and is potentially renewable depending on both parties agreeing.
At any one time there are 8-10 WTE ST1-7+ paediatric/neonatal deanery trainees based on the unit. In addition, there are a number of Clinical Fellows, Research Fellows, MTIs and ANNPs contributing to the SHO rota (15 WTE) and Registrar rota (16-17 WTE).
The current rota enables a Registrar/ANNP & ST1-3 for both Intensive Care, High Dependency and Special care and an allocated person for Transport. Paediatric cover is completely separate to this post
