Junior Fellow in Cancer Care

Come and join the busy tertiary oncology and haematology unit at University Hospital Southampton. This post will enable the successful candidate to gain experience in the ward management of solid organ and haematological malignancies as well as other haematological conditions. In addition, it will enable you to gain an understanding of the different treatment modalities in this fast-changing research-driven field of medicine.
Previous Cancer Care Fellows have presented posters at international conferences, completed significant Quality Improvement and audit projects and we have an excellent track-record of our Cancer Care Fellows progressing to attain training posts at CMT and ST3 level.
We will assign you an educational supervisor, and set clear learning objectives for your time with us., The majority of your time will be spent caring for inpatients and patients on the day unit, and you will have opportunities to attend clinics or radiotherapy planning, and teaching sessions. What we're looking for
We have a busy and successful department, and we are looking for doctors at "FY3"/CT1/CT2 to help run our service especially our wards and day units. We are offering a unique experience to come and work with us and gain experience in different specialties. We will work with you to design a rotation giving you varied clinical exposure.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).
Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave. All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process.

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular.
Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)
Basic Salary - MT03 £49,909
Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role.
Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
