Designer for Sweats & Jersey. Supporting the Designer/Senior Designer, you'll help create trend-led, commercial collections, develop graphics and product designs, research market trends, and work closely with buyers and suppliers to bring products from concept to launch. Role SummaryAs a Junior Designer you will supporting the main category designer in Sweatshirts and Jersey Tops. You will be responsible for key products within a range. Working in conjunction with other category designers and buyers to create a collection for the category, help shape range direction and focal points as appropriate. Role Responsibilities To design and develop FatFace products appropriate to the trends and produce design briefs/packs for the direct supply base and to achieve high quality first samples within the critical path timingTo develop garments for own category and department design team where neededDesign detailed artworks for graphics and surface designerConduct market research in stores to
identify what the latest trends are and competitors rangesProviding advice on initial samples, ensuring manufactured garments match initial design specificationsLiaise with Buyers on costs/margins to ensure that the range can realistically be bought within given budgetsDesign ranges with the Buyer based on sales and trend information. CAD work including producing design packs, manipulating artworks, graphics and printsCAD range plans to ensure choice, newness and a balanced range offered to customersLiaising with suppliers on product and design detail. Present ranges to team and directors for sign off and adjustments. Support senior designer in research themes and directions for design presentation Create and present trend packs, mood boards and forecasts to include key items for following seasons in preparation for department strategy & sign offAlign self to companies social and environmental mission and champion any actions that you can directly impact at all times' Skills and
Experience Degree or equivalent in Fashion based subjectExperience at Assistant/junior Designer levelPresentation and Influencing Skills Ability to communicate with externals and Senior ManagementGood research skillsAbility to organise and prioritise workload Role Competencies Strong eye for trends and understanding of the FatFace brand Knowledge of garment construction, treatments, fabrics and sustainable choices Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop. In Design and Illustrator) Understanding of colour stories and levelsAbility to convey designs from paper to 3D design Good Knowledge of Factory processes Creative and able to convey vision of Fat Face Brand Comprehensive understanding of customer profile, product range & competitorsDemonstrate knowledge of trend within the marketplace Key Contacts and Relationships: Internal:Product team External:Suppliers Accountable for Resources: Represents the brand image and handwriting - impacting on a wide area of
