Junior Clinical Fellow in Urology

This post will join the team of consultants responsible for the provision of acute and elective services to the Local Health Board in Cwm Taf. The post will be part of the Urology team and provide support to the Urology on-call rota for daytime cover 7 days a week. This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months commencing on the 5th August 2026. The post will be required to support the delivery of outpatient, inpatient and emergency services for the local population and in doing so foster excellent working relationships within and outside the specialist area, including medical, nursing, secretarial and support staff, General Practitioners and Management Teams. The post will be expected to take part in ward cover during the weekday daytime 08:00 to 17:00 with one long day till 18:30. Weekend cover will be 1:4 weekends 08:00 to 16:00. This post is fixed term for up to 12 months due to departmental changes., The successful candidate will be one of a number of Resident Doctors who will be supported by a team of consultants, 7 x middle grades, 1 x CST and 1.8 x FY1 resident doctors and Nurse Practitioners. The role will cover all aspects of acute urology services working at resident F2 level doctor grade. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who wish to gain wider experience in urology specialty in an acute setting and help prepare them for higher training in urology. The post holder will be required to work on the junior doctor on-call rota for Royal Glamorgan Hospital. A wide range of general experience is a requirement, and special interests, which compliment existing services, will be supported. Role To assist within the sub speciality service of urology. Elective activity will include exposure to surgical sub specialities such as oncology, open and laparoscopic surgery. To enhance services within the Planned Care Directorate. This vacancy will be on the Resident Doctor payscale; the pay range for this post is up to £64,170 per annum.
