Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics

Duties for the post holder will be on the inpatient wards, Children's emergency department, CYPAU and Tropical Bay. The rota involves daytime and night duties, compliant with the European Working Time and Deanery Directives. Full induction to operations, duties,responsibilities and expectations will be provided.

There is a Consultant led handover followed by a consultant led ward round every morning on both inpatient wards and the successful candidate will be responsible for taking an active role in managing the patients along with the rest of the team. At any time the immediate clinical back-up from a middle grade doctor (Registrar) and our supportive nursing team will be available.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics to join service at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term appointment.

The services works cohesively to deliver the best care for women, children and families. There is an over-arching senior leadership team comprising the Care Group Director, Operational Director, Director of Midwifery and Director of Nursing for Children and Young People.

Each service and specialty has its own leadership team including a Specialty Lead, Specialty Manager, Matrons and Service Manager. The Group also has a Trust wide remit for the professional leadership of children's nursing and as an advocate for children and youngpeople., We're an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and our patients are happy with.

They are benefitting from a new electronic patient record (we were the last acute trust in London to introduce one) and our maternity services have been rated good by the Care Quality Commission.

We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen's and get rid of corridor care.

We're proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

We run a Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
