Full Job Description
The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, however the post holders will have access to the same teaching and training opportunities alongside four other Higher Specialist Trainees and four other Core Surgical Trainees., The work of the Paediatric Surgical Unit encompasses the management of new-born infants and children with congenital malformations and other surgical conditions.
The Neonatal Surgical Unit is a Regional Centre dealing with over 150 new cases each year. The pre-operative assessment, operative treatment and post-operative intensive care of these infants are of vital importance.
The general paediatric surgical work covers the wide variety of surgical conditions encountered in this age group including Urology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Thoracic surgery and Oncology all with an emphasis on Minimal access techniques.
