Full Job Description

INTERNAL ONLY - This post is only open to current employees of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay. Junior Clinical Education Fellow 2 Posts for 12 months starting September 2026 Post holders will work in an acute or general medicine environment, managing a variety of medical presentations. During the education component of the role, post holders will work closely with the Undergraduate Administrative and Clinical Skills teams. This post is ideal for those who:

  • Have completed foundation training
  • Have an interest in Medical Education, Post would be ideal for a motivated junior doctor who is interested in developing both their acute medical skills and teaching portfolio. Post holders will divide their time between clinical work and teaching on a 6 monthly basis.
  • Post holders will work closely with the Undergraduate Medical Education team to facilitate the teaching and development of undergraduate medical learners, which can include medical students, student physician associates and students on elective placements.

    We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
