What you will be doing:
The key responsibilities of a Sports and Fitness Assistant include, but are not limited to:
# Responsible for the Sports Park site and facilities including 11-a-side 3G pitch, outdoor tennis courts and strength & conditioning suite.
# Assist with lifeguarding swimming sessions
# Carrying out gym inductions, programmes and offering help and advice if required
# Welcome and develop connections with all guests, providing support, assistance and specialist knowledge where required

# National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (to be achieved within 2 months of probation organisation to fund training)
# Gym Instructor qualification (to be achieved within 2 months of probation organisation to fund training)
# Enthusiastic and committed
# Good customer service and communication skills
Note - the candidate must be a competent swimmer and be willing to obtain the essential qualifications within the specified timeframe. These qualifications will be funded by Unique Fitness.
Competent swimmer criteria include:
# Jump/dive into deep water
# Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
# Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
# Tread water for 30 seconds
# Surface dive to the floor of the pool
# Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits.

This job is only available to University of Bradford staff. It may be released externally should we not appoint internally.
