We're looking for an experienced Head of Building to lead the Duchy's mainland building, construction and infrastructure activity across a diverse portfolio of property and rural assets. You'll play a key role in translating our long-term estate objectives into deliverable programmes of new-build, refurbishment, maintenance, compliance and decarbonisation projects, ensuring our buildings and infrastructure are safe, resilient and fit for the future.

Reporting to the Executive Director for Property, you'll lead the mainland Building team, overseeing portfolio strategy, investment planning and programme delivery. You'll provide strategic advice on building condition, risk and investment priorities; lead complex projects; and ensure high standards of safety, quality, cost control and commercial performance across the portfolio.

Working closely with teams across Property, Development, Sustainability, Legal, Health and Safety and Finance, you'll build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, lead consultant and contractor teams, and champion value for money, energy efficiency and the Duchy's Net Zero ambitions.

We're looking for a strategic and commercially minded leader with significant senior-level experience in building or construction, a strong track record of delivering complex programmes and proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams. You'll bring excellent technical knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. A relevant degree-level qualification is essential, with chartered membership of CIOB or RICS strongly preferred, alongside relevant health and safety knowledge and a full UK driving licence. The role is based at a mainland office, with regular travel across the portfolio.
