Full Job Description

This PhD project will explore innovative chemical engineering solutions to support sustainable process engineering, low-carbon industrial systems, and resource-efficient technologies. Research themes may incorporate areas aligned with the department's strengths, including resource and energy efficiency, renewable feedstocks and cleaner production pathways, complex fluids and multiphase flows in sustainable chemical systems, advanced separation and purification, water and wastewater treatment, and applied materials and technologies for clean processes, depending on the applicant's interests and expertise.

Undergraduate, PhD: Applicants for PhD must hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) in Engineering or similar relevant science discipline. Swansea University is pleased to offer fully-funded Swansea University JEFFREY ANDREW THOMAS RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP The scholarship includes tuition fees and a stipend - reviewed annually at the UKRI standard rate and a £1,000 annual training allowance to support immersive training experiences, conference attendance, engagement with industry and international collaborative opportunities. Each scholarship is offered for a maximum period of three years; SURES students are expected to submit their theses within this timescale. Informal scholarship enquiries from applicants to prospective supervisors - prior to the application deadline - are warmly encouraged; please direct these to the relevant member/s of faculty staff.
