Our Cornwall Supported Employment service require an enthusiastic and committed individual to support our learners on our programmes throughout Cornwall.These programmes are currently for young people 16 - 24 living in Cornwall and who have and Education Healthcare Plan (EHCP). Delivery of the programmes can be across Cornwall through a mix of education and work-related activity both 1:1 and group work. The base for this post is our Threemilestone office but you will be working out in the community throughout Cornwall supporting learners on work placements and other work-related activity. Mileage is paid at 0.45p per mile between base and supported work placement. Full driving licence, own car and willingness to travel across Cornwall is essential. Making it Happen - Your role The rewarding role of the Job Coach is to support young people in realising their aspirations to participate in work related activities, and facilitate individuals' progression into paid work, through volunteering, education and training, work experience and other routes. The Job Coach will be required work flexibly, and work with individuals on 1:1 basis or in very small groups under the direction of the Employability Tutor. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with confidence and initiative who is comfortable working on a one-to-one basis and sometimes without direct supervision. Working with challenging young people and helping them develop will be key so you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will follow a bespoke timetable and will build positive relationships with the young person to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment.
