Full Job Description
This role in the school is to assist in the maintenance of the school's IT networks and systems to ensure that they are effective in supporting teaching, learning and administration., We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Technician to join our Trust IT team, supporting a busy secondary school environment. You will act as the first point of contact for IT support at your home site (Northallerton School & Sixth Form College), ensuring staff and students benefit from reliable, secure, and effective ICT systems that support teaching, learning, and administration.,
- Provide first-line and on-site IT support with a strong focus on customer service
- Maintain and develop IT networks, servers, devices, and audio-visual equipment
- Support Microsoft 365, Teams, Google Workspace, Windows, Apple and Chromebook environments
- Troubleshoot and repair PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and AV equipment
- Support Trust-wide IT projects and the delivery of the IT strategy
- Maintain ICT infrastructure including networks, wireless systems, telephony, CCTV and access control
- Log, prioritise and resolve IT support requests in line with agreed procedures
- Ensure high standards of cyber security, GDPR compliance, filtering and safeguarding systems
- Support backup systems, antivirus monitoring and business continuity arrangements
- Manage user accounts, access tokens, devices and ICT assets
- Work with external suppliers and contractors where required
- Support effective use of digital technologies in teaching and learning
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys problem-solving, working with a wide range of technologies, and making a real difference in an educational setting., Essential: - Strong technical knowledge across Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams and Google Workspace
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting a wide range of IT systems and devices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support users of varying technical ability
- A proactive, flexible and professional approach to work
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Recognised IT qualification, apprenticeship, or industry certification (or equivalent experience) Desirable:
- Experience working in an education or multi-site environment
- Knowledge of servers (Windows Server 2019/2022), Hyper-V and backup systems
- Experience with web filtering, safeguarding and monitoring tools
- Project support or leadership experience
- Further professional development or higher-level IT qualifications, Have high expectations of themselves and the people they work with.
