Full Job Description

As an IT Operations Technician at The Education Training Collective, you will provide front line IT support at your designated college site, helping to ensure the reliable, secure and efficient day-to-day operation of IT services for staff and students. You will be responsible for resolving routine technical issues, supporting classroom, desktop and mobile technologies, and delivering a responsive and professional support service in line with agreed service standards. You will also support and provide cover across other sites within the group when required.

The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable and professional, with strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of support issues through to resolution, escalating where appropriate. You will have good attention to detail, be able to prioritise and manage competing demands, and communicate clearly with both technical colleagues and non-technical users. You will be flexible, willing to travel between sites, and committed to providing a high-quality user experience for staff and students.

You will need a good general education, proven Tier 1 IT support capability, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults, and a full, clean UK driving licence due to cross-site support requirements. Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential. Relevant industry certifications such as A+, Network+, or MCP are desirable; however, if you do not already hold these, the Group will support your development through on-the-job coaching, access to internal processes and standards, mandatory training including safeguarding and Prevent, and ongoing professional development through appraisal and staff development sessions.
