Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive IT Network Manager to lead our IT support services at Claremont Fan Court School. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver a high-quality IT service in a dynamic educational environment. This is a full-time, year-round position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. About the role:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the school's IT systems and infrastructure
- Manage and develop the IT support team, ensuring excellent service delivery
- Drive the implementation of the school's IT strategy in collaboration with senior leaders
- Oversee IT service management, including helpdesk operations and third-party providers
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with best practices Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across all IT systems and infrastructure
- Maintain and develop IT services using ITIL or similar service management frameworks
- Monitor systems performance and proactively manage risks and threats
- Deliver and support IT projects that enhance teaching, learning, and operations
- Manage the helpdesk and ensure timely resolution of support requests
- Maintain an accurate IT asset register and oversee equipment logistics
- Lead, coach, and develop the IT support team to ensure high standards and continuous improvement About you:
- Relevant experience managing a busy IT helpdesk and support team
- Strong technical background in IT systems, infrastructure, and service delivery
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Able to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Calm under pressure, highly organised, and committed to continuous improvement
- Experience in education is desirable but not essential Desirable technical experience:
- Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V
- Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote
- Networking: IP addressing, VLANs, HPE networks, FS switching
- Dell EMC hardware, Cambium wireless, SAN, backup & replication
- Cyber security tools, Smoothwall or similar firewall systems
- Jamf School, Apple School Manager
- Halo ITSM, Windows 11, managed print systems Benefits:
