We're recruiting an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join Milton Keynes City Council, supporting the systems and services that keep our organisation running effectively for local people. At Milton Keynes City Council, we are dedicated, respectful and collaborative. Our ICT service plays a vital role in delivering reliable, secure and modern technology that enables colleagues across the organisation to provide essential services to our communities. In this role, you'll provide third line technical support and take ownership of key infrastructure systems, helping to maintain our server and desktop environment. Your work will underpin the day-to-day activities of ICT users across the council, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and performing well. This is the role for you if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to a reliable technology environment that supports our city. This role may be suitable for home working, following an assessment. Home-based roles require a minimum of one day per week working from the office or site. Appointments are usually made at the bottom of the grade, with consideration given to a higher starting point only in exceptional circumstances, such as significant relevant skills or experience. This salary grade starts at £38,510. Interviews for this role will be held week commencing 12th October 2026.

At Milton Keynes City Council, we aim to make a difference every day. We're dedicated, respectful and collaborative. We act as one council, and we work hard to create cleaner, safer and healthier communities while tackling inequalities and supporting people to thrive. We take pride in our supportive work culture and try to go that extra mile when it comes to investing in our colleagues.
