IST CYP Assistant Practitioner

To support Children and Young People with learning disabilities and or Autism presenting with complex mental and/or physical health needs, including behaviours considered challenging or those with additional communication, psychological or emotional problems., To support Children and Young People with learning disabilities and or Autism presenting with complex mental and/or physical health needs, including behaviours considered challenging or those with additional communication, psychological or emotional problems.

• To be allocated and manage own case load effectively under the supervision of qualified staff.
• To complete therapeutic assessments of Children and Young People using structured observation and assessment tools under the supervision and guidance of the registered professional.
• To assist qualified members of the team in the development of interventions which are based on assessment outcome and the principles of the relevant professional groups.
• Provide both direct and indirect intensive intervention, advice and support. To monitor and review interventions providing timely and concise feedback to qualified members of the team.
• Work alone with clients/Parents/Carers/Families/other agencies as required following appropriate preparation and liaison with qualified members of the relevant team.
