Full Job Description

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you'll support people with mental health needs to secure and sustain paid employment that matches their aspirations, strengths and preferences. Using the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, you'll work one-to-one with clients, guiding them through every stage of their employment journey, from understanding their ambitions and developing an action plan, through to job searching, securing a role and succeeding in the workplace.

No two days are the same. You'll build strong relationships with local employers, opening doors to opportunities that make a real difference to people's lives. Working closely with Community Mental Health Teams, Early Intervention in Psychosis services and Talking Therapies teams, you'll play a vital role in supporting recovery, wellbeing and social inclusion through employment.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is a confident communicator, enjoys working independently and thrives on building relationships. You'll manage your own caseload, champion your clients' ambitions and provide personalised support that helps people overcome barriers and achieve lasting outcomes.

This is a community-based, peripatetic position, with most of your time spent meeting clients, employers and clinical teams in the community or at clinical hubs. There is little to no home working within this role.

You'll support individuals through every stage of their employment journey, including:

+ Building relationships and engaging new referrals
+ Exploring skills, strengths and career aspirations through vocational profiling
+ Developing personalised employment action plans
+ Identifying and securing suitable job opportunities
+ Working directly with employers to create successful job matches
+ Providing in-work support to both clients and employers
+ Supporting individuals towards independence as ongoing support is gradually reduced

If you're motivated by changing lives, believe in the power of work to support recovery and wellbeing, and enjoy making a tangible difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
