Full Job Description
We are looking for an Investigations & Malpractice Manager to provide operational and investigative support to major investigations into potential malpractice, ensuring fair outcomes for test takers and strengthening global security practices. This role also involves extensive collaboration with IELTS partners to foster strong, effective cross-functional relationships and ensure cohesive, organisation-wide security maturity We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. About the role This role bridges strategic oversight from the Investigations & Malpractice Lead with hands-on execution and adherence of standards provides expert guidance on complex cases, drives improvements to prevent future issues, and contributes to the development of policies and standards that safeguard test quality worldwide. Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:
- Support investigative strategy and contribute to global security policy and improvements.
- Support the management of high-priority malpractice and security investigations.
- Support post-incident reviews and root cause analysis to identify systemic issues or vulnerabilities.
- Recommend corrective actions, policy updates or enhancements to reduce future risk and strengthen integrity.
- Assist IELTS in engagements with regulators, responding to enquiries and ensuring compliance with all relevant security-related regulatory requirements. This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.
- Experience in investigative methodologies and malpractice patterns.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofqual security conditions)
- Experience of IELTS operations and global test integrity and security risks
- Ability to lead complex or sensitive cases and conduct root cause analysis.
- Experience producing high-level reports and insights for senior audiences.
- Leadership skills, including line management or team oversight.
