Please note, this opportunity is only available to Manchester Met 2025 graduates who will be based in the UK for the duration of this role. You must have graduated from an undergraduate course from Manchester Met in June 2025 to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from current or previous postgraduate students., We are looking to recruit a Data and Reporting Intern to undertake a central role in supporting creation and analysis of reports and data. Effective data insights are central to supporting the research environment and are vital to informing wider policy decisions across the research portfolio. This role will work alongside colleagues of all levels and seniority to understand the data requirements with a view to creating and updating reporting to support business-as-usual and decision making. This internship represents an exciting opportunity to play a central and visible role in developing the analysis and reporting function at a time of development and growth. The intern will work closely with the Head of Doctoral Services and the Head of Research Excellence, as well as the wider team members. By the end of the project, the Data and Reporting Intern will have developed and delivered reports to support business-as-usual as well as collated, analysed and presented reporting to senior colleagues. The output from this internship will support a data-driven approach to operations and will form part of core business-as-usual processes., The Data and Reporting Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and delivery of data insights across the Research Excellence and Doctoral Services teams. They will be responsible for gathering data requirements, creating and maintaining reports, and presenting findings to senior stakeholders. This role requires collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues to ensure data is effectively used to inform decision-making and support core business operations. The intern will contribute to enhancing the University's research environment through data-driven approaches and continuous improvement in reporting practices. Key Tasks
- Collaborate with senior academic and professional services staff to identify and document data and reporting needs.
- Create, update, and maintain reports to support routine operations.
- Analyse data to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
- Present findings and reports clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with both Research Excellence and Doctoral Services teams.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Power BI (or similar tools) for data analysis and visualization.
- Support the development of improved reporting practices.
- Contribute to embedding data-driven decision-making in core processes.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of seniority., In this role, the graduate would be expected to improve/develop the following skills:
- Work alongside senior academic and professional services colleagues to develop a clear understanding of data and reporting needs and document these.
- Collaborate closely with the Professional Services colleagues to produce and present data reports that will form part of core business-as-usual reporting.
- Develop skills in data report building and presentation.
- Develop problem solving skills and enhance experience with data use and manipulation.
- Develop an understanding of data driven decision making and the impact on business operations.
- Become a confident communicator across varying levels of seniority., It is expected that the assessment centre will consist of:

This role is only open to those who graduated from a Manchester Met undergraduate course in June 2025 and are not currently studying, nor have previously studied, on a postgraduate course. The ideal candidate will have the following: Essential:
