About the Employer
Sunset Building Company Ltd (SBC) is a family run sub-contractor who specialises in a range of services including dry lining, screeding, plastering and rendering, predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors. Our operational area varies within a 60 mile radius from our head office in Luton, Bedfordshire. What You'll Do
- Assisting with the installation of partition walls, suspended ceilings and drylining systems
- Measuring, marking out and preparing work areas
- Cutting and fixing plasterboard and metal framing systems
- Installing insulation and fire protection materials
- Using hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Loading, unloading and organising materials and equipment
- Keeping the work area clean, safe and tidy
- Following technical drawings and instructions from supervisors
- Working alongside experienced dryliners to develop practical skills
- Following health and safety procedures and wearing the correct PPE at all times
Training Outcome
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have the opportunity to progress into a full-time Dryliner role within the company. With further experience, they could advance to positions such as Lead Dryliner, Site Supervisor or Site Manager. There may also be opportunities to gain additional industry qualifications and specialise in areas such as fire protection, acoustic systems or suspended ceiling installation.
