Research Services provides comprehensive professional support for Oxford's research, innovation and engagement activities. We work closely with researchers, departments and divisions, other professional services, and a wide range of external collaborators and funders. Together with the excellent professional support we seek to deliver, we strive to be a trusted provider of strategic insight and internal and external influence. Following the appointment of the current Director to another senior role within the University, we are seeking an exceptional individual to lead Research Services for an interim period, pending a recruitment exercise to fill the role on a permanent basis later in 2025. Working with and supported by colleagues in the Research Services leadership team, you will be responsible for providing outstanding and cost-effective research, innovation and engagement support services to the research community at the University. Reporting to the Registrar, you will work closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Innovation) on the delivery of strategic priorities for research and innovation. You will engage and represent the University's interests with research funders, government, sector networks and regulatory bodies.

You will have a proven track record of leading and shaping the delivery of effective and efficient professional services at scale, and a strong awareness of the issues affecting research and innovation at regional, national and international levels. You will have substantial experience of successful people and team leadership, of leading by example, and creating the conditions for colleagues to succeed
