Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Intelligent Automation Team and contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) across OneLSC / Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the Trust's digital transformation agenda through the design and implementation of innovative automation solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and focused individual to undertake the role of Junior Intelligent Automation (IA) Developer, working as part of a specialist team to deliver efficient, scalable, and sustainable automation solutions across the organisation., The main duties of the role are:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions across the full automation lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Trust standards, governance, and best practice.
- Analyse business processes and translate requirements into robust, secure, and scalable automation solutions that support clinical and corporate services.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels across the Trust to identify automation opportunities, define requirements, and deliver innovative digital solutions.
- Ensure automation solutions are reliable, cost-effective, and compliant with information governance, data security, and business continuity requirements.
- Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of live automation processes, including incident resolution and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation services, promoting best practice and ensuring solutions meet organisational priorities and service needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, industry standards, and NHS digital strategies to inform service development and innovation., The post-holder will be responsible for the design, creation, deployment and management of automation solutions. Providing cost-effective, risk-controlled, robust, reliable, responsive and secure automation solutions, the post-holder will support clinical and corporate transformation needs and will assist the organisation in delivering strategy. Working as part of the wider team, the role will include: participating in all aspects of RPA process design; solution development; authoring controls and standards; authoring of documentation; programming and technical implementation across the entire automation development lifecycle; the creation of complex functional specifications; application programming across a range of technology platforms; and testing and deployment. The post-holder will investigate a range of design algorithms and data sets to ensure data integrity and security standards are maintained, eliminating single points of failure and unacceptable risks within the cloud-based robotics and integration services environment, developing automation and integration solutions and ensuring that automation is developed in a cost-effective and professional manner, which meets the Trust's operational needs whilst maintaining system security and data integrity in accordance with existing Trust policies.
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in IT systems development role or similar
- Valid UK driving licence Desirable criteria
- ITIL Certified, Relevant degree or significant relevant experience
- Experience of writing programming scripts
- Proven skills and abitily to understand a range of complex issues
- Good understanding of change management
- Good understanding of ITIL
- Use fo IT systems (e.g. Office 365, SQL Management Studio, Active Directory)
- Knowledge of service improvements and project management
- Evidence of continuous personal development Desirable criteria
- Experience using RPA software (e.g. Thoughtonomy, Blue Prism, UIPath)
- High level knowledge of project management
- Working in an ITIL environment
- NHS Experience
- System administrator experience
- Knowledge of data confidentiality and security issues in the NHS, Excellent written and verbal skills
- Able to deal with issues of conflict / resistance
- Presentation skills
