Integrity Science Engineer

Learn how to scale and automate abuse detection processes.We are looking for engineers with extensive experience investigating and analyzing online abuse, and actively implementing countermeasures. Our focus on data analysis and machine learning as well as our knowledge of the robust infrastructure of our back-end systems allows us to collaborate seamlessly with engineering, data science, and operations teams to build tools and techniques necessary to enforce content quality at scale. Integrity Scientists have the opportunity to work on many of the most challenging, complicated, and high-visibility integrity risks the company faces. Our work impacts the billions of people who use Meta products. The potential for impact with this work is substantial, as outcomes could affect the billions of people who use our products.Successful candidates for this team have a track record of
identifying issues and proactively implementing solutions and experience identifying patterns in large, unstructured datasets, making quick decisions, and are comfortable iterating based on new data and adjusting approaches when initial hypotheses are disproven., 1. Identify and investigate online bad actors with the interest and capability to target Meta and its users
2. Work closely with others to identify sources of abusive behavior and take countermeasures to stop abuse
3. Lead technical investigations from start-to-finish and effectively communicate actionable results to different audience types
4. Manage multiple projects at once while prioritizing time based on team priorities

5. BA/BS in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field
6. Experience investigating and acting on high-impact threats and online threat actors
7. Experience with relational databases and SQL
8. Experience thinking critically and qualifying assessments with solid communications skills
9. Experience coding in at least one of the following: PHP, Python, or Java

10. Familiarity with cross-platform integrity threats
11. Proven track record of managing and executing on short term and long term projects
12. Experience prioritizing and executing with minimal direction or oversight
13. Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field
14. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
15. Experience in adversarial space like fraud and spam
16. Experience working across the broader integrity/security/Trust & Safety community
17. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
18. Demonstrated understanding of security and integrity risks, and how they apply to Meta and its users
19. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
