In this impactful role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting families arriving under government migration schemes, including the Afghan Resettlement Programme. You will respond to their immediate resettlement needs and deliver structured work programmes.

Operating with a high level of care and professionalism, you will help safeguard vulnerable individuals, adhering to all relevant protocols around criminal exploitation, human trafficking and domestic abuse. Your person-centred approach, innovative mindset and strong prioritisation skills, will help create lasting, positive change in the lives of those you support.

About the team…
The Migration team was formed in May 2023 to consolidate the council's support across all government migration schemes. This is a high-priority area of work with significant visibility within the council, and we are committed to achieving the best outcomes. Our team brings together a diverse group of subject matter experts, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and with our external partners.

The team is part of the Early Help service, which focuses on providing support to children and families in Bracknell Forest. We also maintain strong partnerships with multiple teams within the council and external partners to ensure coordinated and effective support., Identify need, plan and facilitate group work programs based on local authority models to support the integration of Afghan families.
Coordinate and deliver a variety of group work programs, including parenting groups, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), financial literacy sessions, health and wellbeing sessions, employment readiness training, legal rights and responsibilities, education, criminal exploitation, human trafficking and technology and digital skills training and parent and child play sessions.
Collaborate with partners to understand cultural sensitivities such as domestic abuse and family conflict, to deliver tailored programs to support families.
Collaborate with partner agencies to jointly deliver group work programmes requiring specific skills, knowledge and expertise.
Deliver community engagement activities to foster a strong sense of community within the hotel, including organising events and gatherings, coordinating volunteer programs for families and participating in local community projects.
Work with local organisations and partners to provide services, host events and conduct talks at the hotel.
Embed Bracknell Forest's quality assurance programme and establish feedback mechanisms to inform and improve future group work programmes.
