Full Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As an Integrated Modeller and Scenario Developer, you will exploit the JINTRAC core-SOL-divertor coupled transport code and its integrated modules to understand global tokamak experimental results relating to transport and confinement, validate new physics models, and perform cross-code benchmarks. You will also be contributing to the advancement of core/edge transport codes, and work with code developers to develop/implement advanced tokamak physics and transport models.,
- Contribute to research carried out through international collaborations and work packages, such as EURO fusion-WPTE/TSVV, ITER, or private fusion companies.
- Deliver high-quality and impactful research and/or software outputs that are well aligned with UKAEA programme priorities, and disseminating these internally, externally, and in journal publications.
- Guide students and early career researchers in integrated modelling.
PhD (or equivalent experience) in plasma physics. - Experience in running plasma integrated simulation codes within different frameworks and on different platforms.
- Experience developing scientific codes for computational physics, including knowledge of good software engineering practices.
