Full Job Description

We currently have a vacancy within our Construction department for an Instructor in Carpentry and Joinery. The role would suit a Site Joiner who holds a Level 3 qualification and is interested in working within a supportive, passionate and well-resourced teaching environment.,

  • Deliver high-quality practical Carpentry and Joinery training, including assessing learners in line with awarding-body requirements.
  • Plan and maintain schemes of work, track learner progress, and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Supervise students safely during practical activities, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support smooth delivery across theory and practical sessions and contribute to departmental performance.
  • Maintain workshop areas, equipment and resources, and support events, exams and promotional activities as needed.

    Minimum Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • A period of relevant and successful time within the construction industry.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate learners and work collaboratively within a team.
