The Inspection and Audit Liaison Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all external inspection and audit activity on behalf of the Force. The role ensures the organisation is fully prepared for inspections, providing effective oversight, planning, and support. Working closely with departments and area commands, the post holder will identify and engage local advocates, ensuring inspections are well managed and that learning and improvement opportunities are maximised. What you'll do
- Act as the single point of contact for all external inspections, coordinating activity to ensure a consistent, corporate approach and effective force-wide response.
- Interpret inspectorate requirements and provide clear advice and challenge to departments and area commands to support inspection readiness and positive representation.
- Work with Area Commanders and Heads of Department to develop, quality assure and monitor improvement plans following inspection findings.
- Fulfil the role of HMICFRS Force Liaison Officer, representing the Force externally and maintaining strong networks to support continuous improvement and best practice.

- Degree level (or equivalent level of experience).
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to balance and prioritise competing demands to achieve deadlines.
- Demonstrable ability to analyse and evaluate issues in order to form a judgment.
- Credible as an adviser and consultant to senior executives.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Location: Agile, Middle Engine Lane and homeworking. Salary: Band 9, £42,861 - £49,716 (Please note it is Northumbria Police policy to appoint at the beginning of the band),
