We are looking for outstanding Senior Infrastructure Engineers who are skilled in Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Significant experience in enterprise messaging systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365.
  • Microsoft Certified: Exchange Online or Microsoft 365 Expert certifications with significant experience in managing a Microsoft Exchange environment (On-Premises, Online and Hybrid configurations).
  • Proven ability to manage mail flow, transport rules, connectors, and security configurations as well as PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and API integrations (Microsoft Graph, EWS, REST).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in complex technical initiatives and cross-functional teams with strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes with excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience of other Microsoft 365 services (Purview, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).

We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of critical Microsoft messaging platforms that keep services running smoothly and securely at scale. You'll lead the design and support of Exchange Online, Hybrid and on-premises environments, drive automation through PowerShell and APIs and help shape the future of Microsoft 365 messaging and compliance services.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing strategy and working closely with technical and business teams to deliver secure, resilient and high performing solutions. Alongside hands-on engineering, you'll mentor others, champion best practice and play a key role in modernising enterprise messaging capabilities.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97% , worth over £16,000 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
